Members of Darwin Stingers, one of the largest clubs in Australia, meet at the following times. There are no compulsory sessions; members attend different sessions according to their needs, interests and availability.
Sunday 8.00 – 10.00am.
The club hires 5 lanes of the 50m pool from 0800-1000. Most members attending take part in the Endurance 1000 Competition, in which the club and individual members compete against other clubs and their members around Australia. The weekly program has swims over 400m, 800m, 1500m, 30 min, 45 min and 60 min, with a different stroke/distance each week. Points are awarded on a scale that takes into account time, distance and age group. A stroke correction program is also provided for members to use if they wish. $2 for lane hire for the Endurance program plus pool entry. MSA members only.
Tuesday and Thursday 0530-0630. Graded training, intermediate to advanced.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 0830-0930. Graded training, intermediate to advanced.
Thursday 0830 – 0930. The focus of this session is stroke correction for beginners and intermediate swimmers. MSA members only – free coaching.
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 1815-1915. Graded training, intermediate to advanced.
Saturday 0815 – 0915. Graded training program – $2 for lane hire plus pool entry. MSA Members only.
Unless otherwise indicated for members only sessions, each session costs $8 for members and $12 for non-members. The $8 cost for members can be accessed only by buying a 10-swim card. Swimmers are also required to pay the normal pool entry fee.
